  Do You Really Trust The Police?

  in the local paper there are 2 different towns that are dealing with possible police misconduct.

  one situation involves thousands of dollars worth of pot stolen from the police locker where the drugs were supposed to be safe.

  now the feds and state are involved in finding out who was responsible for the theft.

  I picked up roadside trash recently...loved it...no suit required!

  no doorbells either...local community group i joined recently had it planned....very social coffee beforehand....good excerise...and made four friends......plus the road looks a lot better......... kinda pathetic this is my first ever real volunteer work that counts............but it is a start.........oompa.

  If You Could Go Back In Time ...

  assuming you could go back in time, and knowing what you know now, is there anything the 2009 you could say to that person you were while you were one of jehovah's witnesses, that would have gotten you out earlier, or easier?.

  in other words, have you learned anything now, or while you were exiting, that would have made a difference to you while you were a witness?

  and would it make any difference?

  The information that took me out of the organisation was the information that would have taken me out back when I was a JW. Foolishly I put so many of my questions I had back then on the ‘back burner’, as was recommended by my study conductor, she saying that the answers to my questions would be answered in time by Jehovah. But the questions I had when I started my road back to the organisation were the very same ones I reopened when I could see the problems in the organisation. When I looked there were too many questions simmering away on the ‘back burner’ and it was time to not wait anymore on Jehovah, but to take the initiative myself and see if I could find the truth behind everything.

  I was as ready to see it back then as I was when I did finally look into things. I just wished that I would have known someone who could answer the difficult questions for me as I know the answers now…

  joshua wasn't done butchering people, "not enough time in the day" to chop up "god's enemies" so he says: "yeah hi jehovah, just wondering if you could make the sun stand still for me so i can continue the slaughter...thanks.

  god stops the earths rotation {which should cause it to drift from the sun or crash into the moon} and holds it for joshua.

  So this "phenomena" was observed elsewhere?

  The claim that Velikovsky makes is that in many other ancient peoples myths and folk law the same incident was written about, but from their perspective, so some writings have claims of unusually long nights, some writings claim that dusk lasted for a prolonged time. He also links his claim into the 'fact' that the actual calendar changed around this time as well, being that many nations counted 360 days for a year, Velikovsky claiming that at that time the rotation of the earth changed dramatically also. He also links into the equation that in the biblical account more people died from the hail than from the sword and attributes this to the cause of the sun standing still.

  His books are a very interesting read, although quite a lot of his claims have been proved false, although some of the claim he made proved true, but were very controversial to the science of his day. Fascinating to look into though…..

  The controversial writer Immanuel Velikovsky wrote a few books that went into a ‘plausible’ explanation of the biblical myth that the earth actually stood still.

  Worth a read and he puts forward very interesting evidence from other peoples myths that it was not just that the sun stood still, but also that it stood still on the horizon in certain parts of the earth, as well as other writings that claim that there was an unusually long night, all apparently around the time of biblical Joshua.

  Controversial but a very interesting read for anyone who is interested…..

  six years 'jw free', my wife is still in, although she's now nowhere neary as zealous as i was when in.

  for this i'm grateful.. please take a moment to review my current situation as far as my wife's involvement is concerned with our 4, adult male children:.

  my wife regularly contacts my dfd son, invites him and his wife to visit us, along with their 4 year old son, and thinks absolutely nothing of it!

  Way too brutal. You are going to have to be a lot more cunning than that. It’s a gradual process and the key is to get her to leave on (what she thinks is) her own steam. Chances she will resent you for dropping her in it and it could work very much against you. If you pull that one you will get no second chances…..

  I think that jealousy has its place. If an unbelieving mates spouse spends more time serving ‘Jehovah’ than they do have positive input into the family, then I see that as a very good reason to be jealous. In fact I would go onto say that if a spouse serves Jehovah at all then that is proper cause for jealousy.

  i dare say satan's ways are as mysterious as god's.

  (i now have to wonder if letting a woman on or off the elevator first is part of satan's schemes).
